Welcome SM3Pines Nigerians Page!

We're glad you stopped in!  Here you will find links to pages introducing you to our herd.  I hope that you will find the right goat your your needs here.  Whether you are looking for a nice, healthy and friendly pet, or a top quality brood or show animal, we will do our best to match you to the best animal we can.

From the bloodlines of ARMCH Gay-Mor Berry's Jurassic 2*D, MCH/PGCH Raha Acres Twinks Pixie*D 'E', MCH Willow Creek Instant Replay ++S, and Many other greats, we are please to have built up our own Proud Bloodline.  Our animals are already proving themselves capable of taking top honors, even in large classes.  We are proud with our first ventures into showing.

A Note on Pricing

Though you may feel our prices are high, even for "just a pet," we assure you, we are doing our best to keep our prices reasonable.  Because we test our animals so rigourously and regularly to ensure a healthy herd, we can not offer prices for much below $300, except for Wethers (neutered males for pets).   Our herd is tested twice yearly for CAE, yearly for Johnes and CL, and as needed for TB and Brucellosis (NYS is Certified free of TB/Bru, we test all incoming additions, outgoing animals as required by state regs, and show animals).  All our current test results are available to all our customers with every purchase.   We do at times also run a blood level assay to find out how our feeding program is doing and where changes need to be made in order to prevent problems before they start.  By purchasing your animal from us, you can be sure of getting a healthy goat!

Herd Management

We feed a variety of feeds to create a natural balnce for our animals' overall health.  Our herd is on pasture during all but the worst of the winter months, as well as receiving a variety of hays, such as oat/alfalfa mix, alfalfa/orchardgrass, birdsfoot trefoil, or timothy/alfalfa/clover.  In addition, we also feed a variety of cut browse from our woodlot such as Briar Rose, Maple, Ash, Apple, Walnut, Blackberry, Grape, vetch, trefoil, and others.  We also feed a high fiber grain mix, and offer free choice loose minerals.  We worm regularly with both Natural and chemical wormers, and use fecal exams to test the effectiveness of our methods.

Our bucks come from Proven genetics.  Because a buck can spread his influence so quickly, only the best are kept for breeding animals here.

Personality, longevity, correct conformation, and milking ability are all considered when awarding a breeding position to a doe in our herd.

A look to the future... Our youngstock must be of correct conformation and PROVEN superior bloodlines to be retained.  We don't sell culls to our customers however!  Many times I can't make up my mind on who to keep!
